Take something, or get on with it. That was the choice.

For most of us the options have been a packet of tablets, a hot water bottle, or simply working through it. We spent years making topical products for chronic pain, and the question we kept getting from women was why none of it was made for this. So we made one that is: an oil you massage into your lower abdomen, your lower back, wherever the week has decided to land.

Why you’ll love it

Made for this, not adapted

Formulated for the cycle, not a general pain cream.

Drug free

Nothing to swallow, and nothing that clashes.

Apply it exactly where it is

Lower abdomen, lower back, wherever it has landed.

Twelve botanicals

Kunzea, Clary Sage, Rose Geranium and Sweet Fennel.

The ritual is the point

Warm oil, hands, a few minutes that are yours.

Fits in a handbag

A 60mL pump bottle, sealed, for desk drawers and travel.

Where you are in the month

Most people do not use it every day. They use it on the days it earns its place.

Mid cycle

Ovulation

A small amount massaged low on the abdomen on the days you feel it.

The week before

The build up

Onto the lower back and abdomen as things start to tighten and swell.

Days 1 to 2

The worst of it

Two to three times a day, massaged in circles until it absorbs.

Any day

Tenderness

Gently onto the chest and lower back, which is what reviewers rate it for.

What’s inside

Twelve botanicals, four of them carriers.

Castor Oil, Refined Sunflower Oil, Hempseed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Kunzea Ambigua Oil, Clary Sage Oil, Rose Geranium Oil, Sweet Fennel Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Ginger Extract, German Chamomile Flower Extract and Sweet Orange Oil.

Free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, sulphates, artificial colours, preservatives and petrochemical derivatives. Palm oil free and nut free.

See the ingredient glossary

Clary Sage The signature

The botanical most associated with the cycle in traditional aromatherapy, and the reason this blend smells and behaves differently from anything else we make.

Evening Primrose and Hempseed The carriers

Two of the more expensive carrier oils available, chosen over a cheap filler base because they are useful in their own right rather than just a vehicle.

Kunzea, Ginger and German Chamomile The warmth

Kunzea ambigua from Tasmania, with Ginger and German Chamomile extracts. Together they give the blend its warm, grounding character as it absorbs.

How to use it

Cramps

A small amount low on the abdomen, massaged in circles.

Lower back

The other place it lands. Massage until absorbed.

Breast tenderness

Gently, and the thing reviewers most often single out.

Bloating

Across the abdomen, slowly, two to three times a day.

Ovulation

Mid cycle, on the days you know about.

With a heat pack

Massage in first, then heat over the top.

Before bed

The warm oil and the few quiet minutes are half of it.

In your bag

A pump bottle for the desk drawer or the weekend away.

What customers tell us

★★★★★

Did not see it coming

“This is hands down the best product I’ve used. It worked so well I didn’t even realise my period was coming and I usually get bloated and have back pain the day before.”

★★★★★

On the scent

“Eases pain immediately and reduces abdominal bloating. Totally recommended this product. Took a couple of days to get used to the smell but was great after that.”

Helena R. · Verified buyer

Five-star reviews left by verified Judge.me buyers of this product, quoted as written, including the bit about the scent. It is a real botanical blend rather than a fragrance, and it does take some people a few uses. Individual experiences differ from person to person.

Women's PMS Support Blend surrounded by botanicals

Built by the people who make the pain range.

Zea began in 2016 as a family market stall in Tasmania and we are now Australia’s only Certified B Corporation in natural pain relief, donating 1% of all sales to the planet. This blend came out of years of making topical products for chronic pain, and out of being asked, repeatedly, why nobody had made a proper one for this. The carrier oils alone cost several times what a filler base would. That is the whole reason it is $49.95 and not $19.95.

Questions, answered

What is the Women’s PMS Support Blend?

A therapeutic topical oil made specifically for women, drawing on our experience formulating for chronic pain. You massage it into the lower abdomen, lower back or chest through the days of your cycle that need it.

How do I use it?

For cramps and abdominal discomfort, massage a small amount into your lower abdomen in a circular motion until absorbed. For lower back or breast tenderness, apply gently to the area. Two to three times a day, or as needed. External use only.

What is in it?

Kunzea, Clary Sage, Rose Geranium, Sweet Fennel, German Chamomile, Ginger and Rosemary, in a base of Castor, Sunflower, Hempseed and Evening Primrose Oils. 100% natural, with no synthetics, fillers or artificial fragrance. Palm oil free and nut free.

Why is it $49.95 when your cream is $34.95?

The carrier base. Evening Primrose and Hempseed Oils cost several times what a standard filler base does, and they make up most of the bottle. We could have used a cheaper base and charged less. A 60mL bottle used a few days a cycle lasts most customers a long time.

What does it smell like?

Herbal and warm rather than sweet, because it is a real botanical blend and not a fragrance. Some customers love it immediately and some take a few uses to settle into it, which is honestly reflected in our reviews.

Is it a pain relief medicine?

No. It is a topical body oil, not a listed medicine, and it does not replace anything your health professional has recommended. Our Kunzea Pain Relief Cream is the registered listed medicine in our range (AUST L 360 331).

Can I use it while pregnant, breastfeeding or on medication?

This blend is formulated for cycle-related discomfort. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, breastfeeding or managing a medical condition, check with your health professional before using it.

Can I get it on subscription?

Yes, and if it becomes part of every cycle that is usually the cheaper way to buy it. See the subscription page for delivery frequencies and pricing.
