Kunzea

Kunzea ambigua

Steam-distilled from the leaves and flowering tips of wild Kunzea ambigua, harvested by hand from the unspoiled forests of north-east Tasmania. The heart of every Zea product — a rare native Australian essential oil with one of the highest natural concentrations of C15 sesquiterpene compounds found anywhere on earth. It's these naturally occurring actives that give Kunzea its uniquely calming, soothing character and earned it a place at the centre of our range.

Frequently asked questions about Kunzea

What is Kunzea?
Kunzea ambigua is a wild-harvested Australian native shrub found almost exclusively in north-east Tasmania. The essential oil distilled from its leaves and flowers is the heart of every Zea Relief product.
What is Kunzea oil used for?
Kunzea oil is traditionally used to support relief from muscular aches, joint stiffness and minor skin irritations. Its uniquely high concentration of C15 sesquiterpene compounds is what sets it apart from other Australian native oils.
What does Kunzea smell like?
Fresh, herbaceous, slightly camphoraceous — like a softer, cleaner cousin of eucalyptus or tea tree, with subtle honey-floral undertones from the wild Tasmanian flowers.
