At the heart of everything we do at Zea is our beloved Kunzea oil, a true wonder straight from nature. Steam-distilled from the Kunzea ambigua shrub collected from wild-crafted stock in Tasmania's North East, including the remote and beautiful Flinders Island, this oil carries the essence of this remarkable plant. Its unique composition, rich in alpha-pinene, contributes to its woody, medicinal scent, reminiscent of the fresh air on Flinders Island itself.

Kunzea has long been revered by the traditional owners of this land, with oral histories passed down through generations highlighting its incredible benefits. The indigenous community of Tasmania has used Kunzea oil for centuries as an insect repellent and healing agent for various ailments. It has been valued for its ability to provide temporary pain relief from arthritis, muscular aches and pains, insect bites and inflammation, as well as cold and flu symptoms.

Beyond its traditional uses, Kunzea Oil is perfect for diffusing in therapeutic settings such as spas or massage rooms. Its enchanting scent transports you to the heart of nature, offering a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation.

At Zea, Kunzea takes centre stage in our best-selling nourishing Kunzea Cream and other Kunzea-based products. 2) Coastal Tea Tree

Coastal Tea Tree Oil, a truly unique addition to our pure oils of Tasmania. While the term "Tea Tree" might evoke thoughts of astringency and medicinal properties, Coastal Tea Tree stands apart with its captivating and indescribable scent that must be experienced firsthand to truly appreciate its freshness and complexity.

As a member of the Leptospermum family, Coastal Tea Tree offers a distinct aroma and a range of fascinating uses. Although not as widely recognised as its cousins, such as Manuka and Lemon Tea Tree, the oil extracted from the leaves of Coastal Tea Tree is equally aromatic and effective.

We take pride in sourcing our Coastal Tea Tree oil from wild-crafted stock found exclusively in the pristine coastal dune environment of Flinders Island, located in Tasmania. This ensures that we maintain the highest standards of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Through meticulous steam distillation of the leaves and branchlets of this tall bushy shrub, we extract a pure oil that emanates a delightful sweet earthy scent, complemented by subtle woody and citrus undertones.

Beyond its captivating aroma, Coastal Tea Tree essential oil contains compounds known for their beneficial properties, including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-viral effects. This makes it an excellent choice for therapeutic settings such as spas and massage rooms, as well as for aromatherapy applications aimed at promoting overall well-being, reducing stress, and improving respiratory function.

At Zea, we are excited to offer Coastal Tea Tree oil as part of our commitment to providing you with exceptional and unique Australian essential oils. Boronia is extracted through solvent washes, yielding a waxy substance known as "concrete" which is further refined into its concentrated form or "absolute."
