Ultrasonic diffusers are the most practical for home use - quiet, safe around children, and effective at dispersing oil across a room. Nebulising diffusers use no water and provide a more concentrated aroma, better suited to practitioners or small spaces. Zea Essentials recommends ultrasonic diffusers for most home users.
A standard guide is 3–5 drops per 100ml of water in your diffuser reservoir. For a larger room or stronger effect, use 5–8 drops. Start with less and adjust to your preference - you can always add more.
For continuous use, 30–60 minutes per session is ideal - enough to fill a room with scent without becoming overwhelming. Many diffusers have interval settings that alternate between on and off, which is gentler and conserves oil. Do not run continuously for more than 2–3 hours.
After each use, wipe the inside of the reservoir with a slightly damp cloth. Weekly, run the diffuser for 5 minutes with a few drops of white vinegar diluted in water to remove mineral build-up, then rinse with clean water. Avoid submerging the diffuser.
Yes. Any pure essential oil can be used in a Zea Essentials ultrasonic diffuser. Avoid fragrance oils or synthetic blends - these can damage the diffuser mechanism and do not provide therapeutic benefits.
